Embracing All in the Brigham City Community
About Us
St. Michael's was established as a mission a little over 50 years ago, in order to serve as a witness of the love of Jesus Christ by serving as a place of worship and outreach for the people in Box Elder County and surrounding areas. Though the congregation is small, there are numerous ministries and outreach programs connected to St. Michael's.
St. Michael's is a founder of important community programs such as the Box Elder Community Food Pantry, the New Hope Crisis Center, and The Community Soup Kitchen. Parish members continue to play important roles in these ministries. These programs serve hundreds of individuals and families each month, providing food for the needy, safety to victims of domestic violence, and meals to the hungry and lonely.
The Box Elder Interfaith Community brings together Episcopalians, Catholics, Methodists, Presbyterians, Lutherans, and the LDS Church in a spirit of shared service. Each year, members join together at the LDS Cannery in Ogden for a canning project, most often producing beef stew, though we preserve whatever donations are available. The canned goods are then given to the Box Elder Community Pantry. This effort has produced nearly 200 cases of food in recent years, meeting a deep local need. The group also gathers monthly to coordinate efforts. (Contact: Deanna Sue).
The parish is also active in the Box Elder Interfaith Association, working to find common ground with all the people of the area. All of these programs help us proclaim Jesus as our Redeemer and Master.

The Box Elder Community Food Pantry has served as a lifeline since the late 1980s, when it was founded by late parishioner Dot Bolieau. Open Monday through Friday, the pantry supports individuals and families who meet income-based eligibility guidelines, helping them bridge difficult seasons with dignity. This vital resource continues to rely on volunteers and community support to operate. Those interested in lending a hand can contact the pantry directly at 435-723-1449.

The New Hope Crisis Center provides safe, compassionate support for survivors of domestic violence, offering services to both men and women in crisis. St. Michael’s Church is proud to be a faithful partner in this work, making an annual donation while also maintaining representation on the Center’s Board of Directors. Through this presence, our congregation helps ensure that those fleeing abuse find pathways to safety, dignity, and renewed hope.

The Community Soup Kitchen provides a weekly meal every Thursday to nearly 400 people in Brigham City. Housed behind the Eagles Club on North Main Street, the kitchen has become a cornerstone of care for those experiencing food insecurity. We support this work quarterly, with members volunteering alongside others to extend hospitality and nourishment. Susie Paulson, one of our members, serves as a director of the soup kitchen, ensuring our commitment to this ministry remains both consistent and heartfelt.
